Twitter reduces number of characters to 117?

140 characters going going …

As of Feb 20th Twitter changed its policy regarding tweeting url’s and hyperlinks.

Currently you can use all 140 characters but after Wed Feb 20th this will drop to 117 characters to allow for the URL shortening.

Twitter actually announced on their developer blog back in December that this was their new procedure.

It actually will drop to 118 for http and 117 for https links.

Basically when you insert a url that twitter shortens you will automatically drop to 118/117 characters left to message with.

So will it make much difference? I think we will see a lot more of small phrases like idk appearing and people being more creative.

What do you think?
