Aids to making a Presentation

Making a presentation.

Businessman presenting at www.hallandbrown.com meeting

At some time in their lives even the best presenters had doubts or butterflies when they had to make a presentation to either a group or sales meeting or speak at a conference? Everybody gets nervous, but here are a few ideas to help you overcome the challenge of speaking and grab the attention of the audience.

Use an organized management program. Build into your budget costs a reputable event management software program that will help you with critical planning and crucial event planning. When you are organized not only will you be more relaxed but your audience will see the benefit of your timelines and organizational charts. Organization also cuts down on stress factors, and even with every thing planned out there are still countless opportunities for things to go sideways. Use a checklist for all the items and equipment needed and make sure not only that you have the right gear but someone is on hand to be able to run everything if you are not presenting from your computer in front of you.

Practice your Presentation.

  • Make sure you have good content for the presentation and you know your main points and subnotes so that you do not have to have your head down reading everything throughout the presentation.
  • Eye contact with other people is very important it lets them know that you are looking at their faces for expression.
  • Spend time reading and memorizing the pertinent points of your presentation.
  • Quote a funny anecdote or incident to break up the monotony of a presentation that has to use lots of facts and figures. Beware of using jokes, these can fall flat and through the atmosphere off the room.
  • Use pictures and graphics as much as possible to reinforce your quotations, and give a stimulus for the audience.
  • Allow time to let people ask questions and answer them as factually as possible, if you don’t know they let them know you will follow-up with them later. WHen someone asks a good question – praise them and thank them as you answer.

A great presentation is not just about what you say and do on the day, but also about the back-end support. Make sure that when you tell someone the web site will be live on a certain date that you have checked with the web team and they have told you it will be live, or if the offer has free shipping, that this has not be changed.

At the end of the day one of the keys to being a good presenter is to be relaxed, and allow all your hard work and research to flow. You know your material, you have rehearsed and know you are ready to speak.
Ladies and Gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to introduce………… You!

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

    • I’m impressed, I must say. Really hardly ever do I encounter a weblog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you’ve got hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the problem is one thing that not sufficient people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for one thing relating to this.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

I say to you, I certainly get irked at the same time as other folks consider issues that they plainly do not recognize about.
